Namibia Reservations was established in 2002 and are situated in Germania Street 26 in Otjiwarongo. The closed corporation is run by owner Mark Mücke.

Duwisib Guest Farm - Namibia

 Castle  History

 It was built by ‘Baron’ Captain Hans Heinrich von Wolf (born in Dresden in 1873). Later von Wolf went home to Dresden and married the step daughter of the US consul, Miss Jayta Humphrey, on the 8th of April 1907. They decided to settle in the South-West Africa and bought 55 000 ha of farm land in total. Eminent architect Wilhelm Sander was commissioned to design a building and construction commenced in 1908. The stand stones used for construction were carried approximately 2 km from the castle. Furniture was imported from Germany and stone masons were hired from Italy, Sweden and Ireland. While they were travelling to Europe in 1914 to acquire more horse for their stud, the first world war broke out and the ship carrying von Wolf and his wife was diverted to Rio de Jeneiro. Jayta Humphrey had retained her American citizenship and found passage to Europe on a Dutch ship; legend has it that the baron was hiding in his wife’s cabin. To the amazement of the cabin crew the lady appeared to have a healthy apatite as she was secretly ordering for both of them. On arrival in Europe the baron rejoined the German army, and was killed at the battle of Somme in 1916 and thus their African dream was short lived and Jayta never returned to Africa.
This national monument consist of 900 m2 with a large courtyard and is today open to the public as a museum.

Massive Growth - The Baobab Tree

Western trading with 16th Century Egyptian merchants came to the parts of the tree used for medicinal purposes, or for flavouring as being named Bu-HOAB. The French botanist Michel Adason (1727 - 1806) Who's valuble contribution to the science of batany was honored by having the tree named after him. The tree is also refered to as being the "cream of tartar tree" and the "monkey bread tree" and the "sour gourd tree"

These massive growths can be found in the Grootfontein are. If you have been in the Grootfontein area and haven't stood next to one of these trees then a trip to farm Keibeb is worth the time and effort for this is where Tree no 1063 is situated.

A most impressive tree in spite their unusual appearance they are the subjects of many African legends. The young tree bares little resembleance to its mature version and are difficult to recognize as being and this gave rise to the bushmen belif that there were flung down on the ground with their roots in the air. The fanmous British missionary explorer Dr. David Livingstone described the tree ad being Like, A Giant Upturend Carrot.

Zabubega Country Cottage - Keetmanshoop,Namibia

Zabubega Country Cottage offers a fully furnished thatch cottage on a farm near Keetmanshoop in Namibia. The farm is an ideal destination for people who love nature, peace and sunny days.

The cottage is fully equipped for four guests and has a double bed and two single beds. Quality linen and down duvets for the winter are provided and the bathroom consists of a shower only. The lounge has a TV and DVD player and the cottage opens onto a private garden.

  The lapa has a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, a fridge-freezer, all kitchen utensils, tea and coffee facilities and an open-air fireplace.

 There is a bush Jacuzzi and cozy hammock reading nook for guests to enjoy. Children of all ages are welcome and covered parking is available.
