Sandfontein where relaxation comes naturally

Sandfontein Lodge & Nature Reserve is a private hideaway in Namibia with magical mountain scenery and just five eco-conscious bungalows. With epic river views and scorched, rocky landscapes that extend as far as the eye can see, Sandfontein is a nature reserve like no other.

Enjoy a romantic lunch by the pool, the choice is simple: set out to discover the reserve’s incredible plants and creatures, or spend an indulgent hour or two in the cosy main lodge building, where mountain views flood into the soulful bar area.

Animals

Of all the animals at Sandfontein, most impressive are the illusive wild leopards, which stalk the land in search of prey. Antelope species seen on the reserve include eland and kudu, a solitary creature that spends much of its time in the mountains.

Ruacana Eha Lodge

http://www.namibiareservations.com/ruacanaehalodgee.html

Ruacana Eha Lodge is a natural gateway to the wonders of the Kaokoveld, the Etosha National Park, the Epupa Falls and the vibrant African culture of the Omusati, Oshana, Ohangwena and Oshikoto regions in northern Namibia. It is a glittering oasis in the rugged landscapes of northern Namibia that offers relaxation, conferencing and a rare opportunity to come face-to-face with forgotten Africa. The word “eha” describes a piece of jewellery worn by the Himba, but it also means “home”. Few people have explored the Kaokoveld, yet all who have seen it, talk of its amazing beauty. Here, one can meet one of the few remaining semi-nomadic tribes, the Himbas. One can also discover the marvellous ways in which nature has adapted to the harsh desert and semi-desert environments.

The landscapes of Kaokoveld and Kunene seem so much larger than any other. Vast grass plains and dense savannas are punctuated by huge mountains and rolling hills. But the most prominent feature of this area is the tranquil silence.

The lodge has 21 rooms of which one is a family unit and the rest twin rooms. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities and television. Other facilities at the lodge are a restaurant, swimming pool, lounge bar, conference room, gym, and squash court. There is also a landing strip at Ruacana.

The following activities are offered:
Visit to a Himba village; Sundowners; Scenic drives; Guided walks; Visit to the Ruacana Falls (Please note that the flow of the Ruacana Falls depends on the level of the river and the needs of the power station, and so are beyond the control of the management of Ruacana Eha Lodge); Visit to the Hydroelectric Power Station.
